My niche in music photography is a passion I’ve had for over 7 years and I work constantly to improve myself.
I had worked with darkroom technology and printing for three years when I decided to get some further education related to photography. I studied black and white photography and darkroom technology for one year at the educational institution Fridhem in southern Sweden.
I have taken pictures for several local bands in Gothenburg, both promotional and concert pictures and I have photographed festivals like Hultsfredfestivalen, Way Out West, Pier Pressure and Metaltown. My passion has taken me to the artwork on the cover of MM, Musiker Magasinet (Musician magazine), twice. I’ve also had several pictures in various articles in magazines for musicians.
I have worked for ABF, Arbetarnas Bildnings Förbund (Workers Training Association), in Gothenburg for several years. ABF is the largest educational association in Sweden. I have taken photos for their course catalogs and I have also taken several cover images for them.
I was commissioned to take the photos for an entire book for ABF called “Do It Yourself – Från noll till hundra på egen hand” (“Do It Yourself – From zero to a hundred on your own”). The book is a bit of a reference work containing a number of things that musicians and bands may find useful. It is about how to record in a rehearsal studio, arranging gigs, how to sell their music in the record industry and on the web and much much more.
With all this behind me, I’m looking forward to new challenges in life…
